Turkish sports media can’t get out of the bermuda triangle situation around Crystal Palace-Trabzonspor-Leipzig over the transfer of Sorloth. Trabzonspor’s chairman, Ahmet Agaoglu, already made a few statements about Sorloth in recent days, and then Sorloth suddenly revealed his decision that not to return to Trabzon. So what’s going on with Sorloth transfer?
Trabzonspor Chairmans’s Interview
Trabzonspor president Ahmet Agaoglu had given an interview about Sorloth’s situation to Fanatik, which one of Turkey’s biggest sports newspaper, and highlights from Ahmet Agaoglu’s interview are as follows;
- If Sorloth plays in 50% of Trabzonspor’s matches in the 2020/21 season, Trabzonspor has the option to buy Sorloth for 6 million euros.
- Offers received so far are around 20 million euros. There is no club offering 25 or 30 million euros yet.
- We have 50% share with Crystal Palace for the transfer of Sorloth. That’s why we want Sorloth to be sold for 30 million euros, so that both clubs can earn 15 million euros each.
- We still are in talks with Leipzig and Tottenham for the Sorloth’s transfer.
Tottenham’s manager Mourinho mentioned that they were interested in Sorloth after they lost 1-0 in the Premier League this weekend. And moreover, It is said that Leipzig, one of the clubs interested in the player, made an offer 24 million €(18 million + 6 million € bonus). Tottenham’s offer is 20 million euros without a bonus. Trabzonspor’s chairman Ahmet Agaoglu said that they will never accept offers below 25 million Euros.
